My Boston Pride 2007

Last weekend was Boston Pride and this year was a pretty fun one for us. We got up early on Saturday and headed over to TM and JC's house. They live over in the South End so they had a bunch of us over for some pre-parade brunch. TM had this whole spread of breakfast goodies from Flour - muffins, sticky buns, breads, and other goodies. And of course there were the bloody marys and mimosas.

Twelve o'clock rolled around and we slowly headed down to Tremont Street to watch the parade. We missed the first 15 minutes though so we didn't get to see the biker chicks or Deval Patrick at the lead. SM and her friends from out of town were just up the block having brunch, so they came over to meet us when they finished up.

With the parade over and some time to kill before the block party, we all headed back to TM's pad for some more mimosas outside on his deck. Good times. Before we knew it, it was time for SC and I to head over to the Alley for the women's block party.

The block party was fun. We spent a good amount of time dancing at Gypsy Bar. We ate gravy fries at Sweetwater. We watched people ride the mechanical bull at the Liquor Store (SC convinced me to go ride the bull, but of course when I went over to sign up, the guy said they were closing up... On another note, does anyone know how I can involve bull riding at my birthday party?). The great thing about the block party is that you get to hang out in bars/clubs that you normally would never go out to because they are typically very fratty joints.

With the block party ending in ten minutes, we decided to head out and grab some dinner. SC and I wolfed down sandwiches at the Parrish Cafe and then went home and crashed.

Happy Pride!
